Therapeutic Properties: By making incisions in the trunk it exudes a resinous liquid that when dried is marketed as aromatic incense called storax.
Internally it is expectorant, disinfectant and antiseptic.
It is used to treat eczema, boils and chilblains.
It is added to toothpaste to treat oral diseases.

Active Ingredients: Coniferyl benzoate (60-80%), benzyl cinnamate (2%), free benzoic acid (5-8%), free cinnamic acid (10-15%), sia-resinolic acid (19-hydroxyoleanolic) and suma-resinolic (6-hydroxyoleanolic). Traces of vanillin.
